Vista Wellness is committed to making your first experience with us a smooth and pleasant one. Any kind of medical treatment may be intimidating for the first timer but rest assured, you are in good hands. Here are a few tips to make your first treatment a truly fantastic experience.

Tips to keep in mind

  • Try to arrive a few minutes before your appointment so that you may settle down, use the washroom and relax beforehand.
  • Do not drink any caffeine or alcohol before your appointment
  • Make sure you are well hydrated and have eaten a small snack or light meal ahead of time.
  • The first consultation and treatment could take up to 90 minutes. Ensure that your schedule is clear so you do not feel rushed.

This information will provide us with some of the necessary information regarding your health history and condition in order for us to make an accurate diagnosis.

One on One Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation to discuss your current condition, concerns, and suggested treatment options. During this time we aim to learn more about you, your condition, and your expectations to determine how we may meet your ultimate goals.

  • Mention all health concerns you may have no matter how insignificant or irrelevant they may seem.
  • Bring along any supportive lab tests, x-rays, recommendations from your general physician and current medications.

Examination

Pulse Taking

After your consultation, we will perform a complete examination of your tongue appearance, analyze of your pulse and conduct gentle palpation along the affected meridians.

  • Nothing will be done in our office without your consent. Please let us know if you have any concerns.

Analysis

After a thorough review of your health history, goals, pulse and tongue, we will discuss recommendations regarding treatment through acupuncture, herbal supplementation and lifestyle/diet modifications.

  • This is the time to ask all your questions.

Treatment

At the conclusion of your initial appointment, you may choose to experience your first treatment. This may include but is not limited to Acupuncture, Cupping, Moxa, Tui Na and Ear Seeds application.

Wellness Program

Upon completion of your consultation, we may suggest a wellness program to incorporate outside of your treatments at Vista Wellness. This may include herbal remedies, supplements or nutritional changes. If you so desire, we can work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore every person may benefit from a customized wellness plan. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve your ideal healthy lifestyle.
